Main research interests
- Systematics, taxonomy, phylogeny, morphology, biogeography and ecology of selected groups of tropical Lepidoptera, mainly Arctiinae (especially the tribe Syntomini and the genus Euchromia), but also Zygaenidae: Procridinae and Thyrididae: Charideinae.
- Application of “museomics” and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) in phylogenomic research on Lepidoptera.
Current research tasks
- Principal Investigator if the NCN PRELUDIUM 20 grant: "Journey between worlds - directions of dispersal and colonisation of the Old World by the Neotropical fauna, on the example of genus Euchromia (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Arctiinae)".
- Taxonomy and phylogeny of Madagascan Syntomini and Procridinae, as well as Charideinae from continental Africa.
- The presence/absence of male scent scales (androconia) in Madagascan Syntomini - the significance of this trait for the systematics and evolution of the group.
- Research on potential mimicry rings among Madagascan Lepidoptera.
- Participation in Project Psyche - 10kLepGenomes COST Action.
