The Molecular Techniques Laboratory is a unit that provides access to specialized laboratory facilities and technical support for conducting research using molecular biology techniques. The Laboratory’s infrastructure is used by both researchers and doctoral students from all departments of the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals Polish Academy of Sciences.
The Laboratory carries out a wide range of molecular biology analyses, including DNA and RNA extraction, quantitative and qualitative assessment of nucleic acids, DNA amplification using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Sanger DNA sequencing, fragment length analysis by capillary electrophoresis, DNA cloning in biological vectors, as well as the preparation of amplicon libraries and genomic DNA for next-generation sequencing (NGS).
