The library possesses one of the greatest collections of zoological books and journals in Poland. It consists of nearly 109 000 items altogether, in this number about 54 000 books and separates and nearly 53 000 volumes of journals. In the remaining part of the collection, there are maps, tables etc. and 539 volumes of old, published before 1801, books (December 2013).
