Principal Research Interests
- Molecular polymorphism of studied DNA fragments within Paramecium aurelia species complex and the other species of Paramecium genus (Ciliata, Protista).
- Analysis of intra-population variability within Paramecium species (Ciliata, Protista).
- Assessment of intra- and interspecific molecular variability of Arctiidae and Tortricidae (Lepidoptera).
Current Research Projects
- Assessment of systematic position of Paramecium sonneborni within Paramecium aurelia species complex based on cytological and molecular analyses.
- Reciprocal phylogenetic relationships within Paramecium jenningsi species complex – molecular analysis of 16 DNA markers.
- DNA barcoding of unicellular eukaryotes – is it sufficient for fully species delineation in the Paramecium genus ?
- Assessment of selected genome fragments for studies on intraspecific variability of Paramecium biaurelia.
- Co-evolution of ciliates Paramecium bursaria (host) and Chlorella-like algae (endosymbiont) based on the analysis of selected DNA fragments.
- Molecular and morphological variability of the genus Pseudothyretes (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Arctiinae).
- Ancient DNA as a way to study the domestication of sheep (Ovis aries) in Poland.
